This tour is an orientation sequence across the grounds, not a fixed walking route. Its seven stops are far apart; use the cemetery bus or divide the visit according to time and mobility.
Stops from west to east
- Main entrance: arrival from U-Bahn and S-Bahn and the starting point for internal buses.
- Historic administration building: a Cordes-era introduction at the western edge.
- Forum Ohlsdorf: accessible centre for advice and farewell ceremonies.
- Chapel 2: historic chapel from the cemetery’s early development.
- Chapel 9: transition towards extensive memorial and war-grave areas.
- Memorial cemetery for foreign victims: a place of remembrance for concentration-camp prisoners and forced labourers within the international war-graves area.
- Chapel 13: a distinctive eastern conclusion near Seehof and Bramfeld entrances.
The complete sequence requires strong mobility and ample time. Check gate hours, weather and your return journey. The map identifies each stop separately.
